Contained
GreenBeam's treatment system sits inside a sealed housing, low to the ground, pointed down. The beam travels from the source, through the aperture, to a plant a few centimeters below. It does not travel across your lawn, and it does not leave the machine.
Nothing happens until GreenBeam has already confirmed what it is looking at. Detection comes first, confirmation second, treatment last. If the first two do not complete, the third never starts.

Treatment is directed downward, at ground level, into a working area a few centimeters deep. There is no horizontal path out of the machine.
GreenBeam identifies the plant, confirms it is a target, then acts. No confirmation means no treatment.
The part that reassures most parents is the simplest one. The beam never leaves the machine.
It sees you
LiDAR and onboard sensing give GreenBeam a continuous picture of what is around it. A foot, a ball, a dog, a garden hose that was not there yesterday. When something enters the working area, the mission pauses before anything else happens.
GreenBeam is not checking occasionally. Spatial sensing runs the whole time the robot is moving.
The first response to anything unexpected is to stop. Replanning and route changes come after, not instead.
The operating area you drew in the app is enforced continuously, so GreenBeam stays where you put it.
Nothing sprayed
Every other safety claim on this page describes how carefully a machine behaves. This one is different. GreenBeam applies nothing to your lawn, so there is nothing left behind for anyone to encounter afterward.
Hands on the grass, five minutes after GreenBeam finished. No re-entry interval, because there is no treated surface to wait on.
No waiting for the lawn to dry before children or pets can go back out on it. There is no treated surface to wait on.
No residue to pick up on skin, fur, or the soles of shoes, and nothing to track through the house afterward.
No product to run off the lawn in the next rain, and nothing to reach the creek at the end of the street.
No concentrate to store on a shelf, no sprayer to rinse, and no half-empty containers to keep out of reach.
A chemical program asks you to manage the risk after it leaves. GreenBeam removes the step that creates it. There is nothing to keep anyone away from.
Safe operating states
An autonomous machine needs a defined answer for every condition it did not expect. GreenBeam's control logic has one rule that governs all of them, and six states where it applies.
Motion halts first. Only after the area is clear does GreenBeam decide whether to route around or wait.
PerceptionGreenBeam suspends work and heads for the Garage rather than continuing in conditions it was not designed for.
WeatherThe operating area you drew in the app is enforced continuously, not checked occasionally.
PositionIf GreenBeam is less certain where it is, it enters a conservative state instead of carrying on blindly.
LocalizationReturn to the Garage takes priority before the remaining charge becomes the limiting factor.
EnergyNo treatment happens without a confirmed target. Uncertainty produces inaction, never action.
InterlockUncertainty should reduce action, not increase it. That single principle runs through every subsystem on the robot. It is the reason a machine carrying a treatment system can be trusted to work unattended on ground where your family spends its weekends.
Certification
Products like GreenBeam are regulated, and that is a good thing. Here is the framework, in plain language, and where GreenBeam sits inside it.
The federal performance standard for laser products sold in the United States, administered by the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health. It governs enclosure, labeling, interlocks and reporting before a product enters commerce.
