Why treat the entire lawn when technology can find the weed?

GreenBeam was founded around a single idea: that modern AI and robotics make it possible to identify and treat individual weeds precisely, without subjecting the whole lawn to blanket treatment. That idea became a working system.

Traditional weed control treats the whole lawn to reach individual weeds. Whether by hand, broadcast herbicide, or chemical application, the approach has always been area-based — even though only a fraction of any lawn is actually weeds. The effort is repetitive, imprecise, and indiscriminate.

THE IDEA

What if the system could see the difference?

What if AI could classify individual plants — telling a dandelion from a flower, a target weed from healthy grass? If a robot could navigate to each identified plant and treat it individually, weed control didn't have to treat the entire lawn. It could treat the weed.

Turning the idea into a working system required bringing together computer vision, onboard AI, precise outdoor positioning, autonomous mobility, and precision-light targeting. Each capability was developed and tested individually, then integrated into the GreenBeam system: Robot, Garage, and App.

WORKING GREENBEAM

The system works in real outdoor conditions.

GreenBeam patrols a defined lawn, examines plants with its camera, evaluates them with onboard AI powered by NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, navigates precisely with RTK, detects obstacles with LiDAR, and directs precision light at confirmed target weeds. The GreenBeam App connects the mission to a smartphone in real time.
